Appointments at A. Ahlström
Lia Heasman (Ph.D.) has been appointed Responsible Investment Director at A. Ahlström, effective November 6, 2025. Lia is an experienced legal sustainability professional with over ten years of ESG experience both in Finland and internationally. She will join A. Ahlström from Castrén & Snellman, where she served as ESG Counsel. Previously, she worked as Director, ESG in KPMG’s transaction services in Sydney and led Deloitte’s global Human Rights Community of Practice. Her expertise spans various ESG areas, including strategy, compliance, sustainable finance, and M&A. She has made notable contributions through the publication of scholarly research focused on business and human rights, and acted as the country expert for Finland, Sweden, and Denmark for the European Commission’s comprehensive study on mandatory due diligence in supply chains.
Victor Bergström (M.Sc.) will join A. Ahlström’s Industrial Investment team as Investment Associate on October 13, 2025. He transitions to Ahlström from McKinsey & Company, where he worked primarily with the forest and fiber as well as technology industries. He has experience in driving value creation and transformation in companies, particularly in operational changes within the forest and manufacturing industries. His previous investment and finance experience includes leading asset management and risk management development programs. In addition, Victor brings versatile expertise and a strong ability to grasp the big picture, thanks to his family business background, which includes years of active involvement and development work in the industrial sector.
Internal Appointments
Lia’s sustainability team will be strengthened by an internal appointment: Laura Meyer (M.Sc.) will take on the role of Sustainability Manager. Laura has worked for over six years in the Family Functions team, responsible for developing and maintaining communications. Since September 2025, she has also served as project manager for CSRD reporting. Laura is currently Chair of the Eva Ahlström Foundation and responsible for operational processes and stakeholder engagement in Ahlström Collective Impact. Before joining Ahlström, she worked in management consulting, focusing on business development.
Miia Mäkinen (MBA) has been appointed Communications Manager, starting September 1, 2025. In her new role, she will be responsible for leading A. Ahlström’s communications. Miia has worked at A. Ahlström since early 2023, contributing to both internal and external communications. Since September 2025, she has also been serving as Communications Lead for Ahlström Collective Impact. Prior to A. Ahlström, Miia worked at CBRE as Head of Marketing & Communications leading the company’s marketing communications in Finland. She has ten years of experience in strategic B2B corporate communications in expert organizations.
Camilla Sågbom, A. Ahlström’s Director, Sustainability and Communications, will transition to Nordea in November to take on the role of Head of Group Brand, Communications & Marketing Finland.
