Cultural heritage

A. Ahlström’s historical Noormarkku Works in the Satakunta region in Western Finland plays a significant role both in the history of the Ahlström family and the industrial and cultural history of Finland as a whole.

Noormarkku Works, one of the largest and most impressive ironworks areas in Finland, has been under the ownership of the Ahlström family for more than 150 years.

During this time, the area has reached the heights of its current splendour. Nowadays, Noormarkku Works offers customers first-class accommodation, restaurant and meeting services as well as cultural enjoyments. In the spring of 2020, Noormarkku Works received the international GreenKey environmental certificate, which is granted to sites that are committed to, for example, increasing environmental awareness and improving energy efficiency. Noormarkku Works is managed and maintained by A. Ahlström Oy’s subsidiary A. Ahlström Real Estate Ltd.

In total, the elegant rooms of Noormarkku Works are capable of accommodating over 90 people. Guests wishing to elevate their experience can also make use of the cultural services and nature services of Noormarkku Works. Noormarkku Works offers guided tours of Villa Mairea, the Ahlström Voyage exhibition and the Makkarakoski sawmill. High-quality outdoor activities, such as fishing packages and canoe safaris, as well as wellness services, are also available. Chaîne des Rôtisseurs restaurant Noormarkku Klubi serves gastronomic experiences. The restaurant favours local producers and the best seasonal ingredients.
