Company / History / Acquisition of Wessen
In 2005, Ahlström Capital acquired 51% of the Russian company Wessen. The company manufactured electrical accessories and had a revenue of 14.5 meur (2005).
We later increased our holding in Wessen to 70%. In 2007, Wessen’s revenue was 24 meur. The company doubled its net sales in the four years of Ahlström Capital’s ownership. Wessen was sold to the French company Schneider Electric.
We divested our investment in 2008.

Our current portfolio includes privately held companies Ahlström Invest B.V. (including a significant ownership in Ahlstrom Oyj), Munksjö Paper AB, Metsäkonepalvelu Oy, Bast Fibre Technologies Inc, M&J Recycling A/S and GPV Group A/S. In addition, significant holdings in listed companies Suominen Corporation, Detection Technology Plc and Glaston Corporation. We also have major real estate and forest holdings, which are managed by our fully owned subsidiary, A. Ahlström Real Estate Ltd.
