In 2014, we acquired a 5.0% holding in Outokumpu, a global leader in stainless steel. Stainless steel is an ideal material to create lasting solutions in demanding applications from cutlery to bridges and from energy to medical equipment. In 2014 the company’s revenue was 6,844 meur. Later in the year of 2014, we reduced our holding in the company from 5.0 to 3.1%.
Building on a legacy of more than 170 years, Ahlström is a long-term industrial owner, developing leading global specialist positions in Forest & Fiber and Environmental technology sectors. Our goal is to create a better world for future generations through sustainable value creation.
Our current portfolio includes privately held companies Ahlström Invest B.V. (including a significant ownership in Ahlstrom Oyj), Munksjö Paper AB, Metsäkonepalvelu Oy, Bast Fibre Technologies Inc, M&J Recycling A/S and GPV Group A/S. In addition, significant holdings in listed companies Suominen Corporation, Detection Technology Plc and Glaston Corporation. We also have major real estate and forest holdings, which are managed by our fully owned subsidiary, A. Ahlström Real Estate Ltd.
