ÅR Packaging is sold
ÅR Packaging – previously ÅR Carton – was a part of our portfolio since the very establishment of Ahlström Capital in 2001. The company produced unique folding carton and flexible packaging solutions and had a revenue of 335 meur (2001).
ÅR Packaging is one of the success stories that Ahlström Capital developed as a long-term active owner. In Ahlström Capital’s hands, the company focused its operations, significantly improved its profitability, returned to profitable growth and evolved into one of the leading packaging companies in Europe. In 2012, the company’s focus areas were adjusted with the divestment of the beverage packaging business.
The acquisition of European packaging operations from MeadWestvaco in 2015 enhanced the company’s position in selected strategic customer segments and elevated ÅR Packaging to the top three position as a converter in the European folding carton market.
In 2015, ÅR had sales of approximately 560 meur (pro forma).
